House & Duel Rules
Last reviewed: this season.
These are the house and duel rules for MIRROR MATCH. Booking a station, sitting a mirror pair, or stepping up on duel night means you are happy to keep to them. None of it is a surprise — it is the same seconds'-courtesy that keeps twenty-eight stations and three duel pairs running evenly for everyone in the room.
Hours & booking
The floor opens through the day and evening, with late blocks on weekends. Reserve ahead through the Book a duel form or walk in when there is room. A mirror pair is booked as one unit for two players and billed by the hour, split however you agree. If plans change, tell us before your window starts and we will release the seat — you only ever pay for time on a station, so a cancelled booking costs nothing but the heads-up.
The pairs & stations
- A mirror pair is one spec shared by two seats — identical down to the mouse feet and the switch under every key. Neither half is adjusted alone.
- Sides are drawn at the table, never chosen: a coin decides who starts on the blue seat, and players switch at the halfway gong.
- On a pair you may bring a personal mouse or keyboard only if the identical model can be fitted to the other seat; otherwise both play the matched set.
- On the main rows there is no such rule — plug in what you like at the front ports and take it home with you.
Conduct at the table
Keep it easy for your opponent and your neighbours. Voice chat stays at a reasonable volume, headsets go on for anything loud, and nobody leans into another session uninvited. Spectators keep clear of the two switch clocks and hold reactions until a round closes. Duel nights are settled by points and the clock alone — never money on the line. There is no wagering of any kind at MIRROR MATCH, no buy-in and no cash outcome, and anyone trying to arrange it will be asked to leave.
Scores, ladder & care
The season ladder measures skill and turnout: wins add ranking points, clean rounds nudge the total, and it resets to zero every twelve weeks. Lidded drinks are fine at any seat; keep snacks tidy so the matched gear stays clean. Treat the hardware like it is yours for the hour — report a fault at the desk rather than wrestling with it, and we will move you to another seat.
Liability
We keep both halves of every pair maintained and the room in good order, but you play at your own comfort. Look after your belongings; the club is not responsible for personal items left on the floor. We may update these rules as the club grows — the current version always lives here.
